The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus
First things first. The premise of 'The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus' is quite simple really. An old man has a stage show, in which, he will let one person through a magical mirror that leads them into his imagination. That's about it.
Then again. It is a very complicated movie. VERY complicated. There are many moments that deal with the devil, and monks that tell stories and random hangings and gingers getting small people getting annoyed with everyone and so on and so forth.
This was Heath Ledger's last movie. It certainly was brilliant. Unfortunately though, he died half way through filming, so it was unsure whether the film was going to be released but Heath ledgers part would be recast, or stopped filming altogether. So they decided to recast Heath Ledger. But only in the Imaginarium. "What are you talking about Mr. Estall Jr.?" I hear you say, well i shall explain forthwith.
Terry Gilliam (The Director) imagined that Heath Ledger's face would change when he went into the imaginarium. Johnny Depp, Colin Farell and Jude Law all play Heath Ledger in the Imaginarium. Yes. But it works.
Well then. Very good movie. I can't explain it fully. You'll have to go and see it. But trust me, it's VERY good.
Is it worth the admission price? Yep. Good waste of 2 hours.
Would you recommend it to your friends? Ohyes. Go and see it, friends.
Is Heath Ledger a God? Oh, quite possibly.
